Guess what? Most people say this to me - even those you saw looking all relaxed and gorgeous in my portfolio. The trick is to be in the moment and relax, easier said than done but putting people at ease is what I do. Clients who were nervous at the start usually commented how they surprisingly enjoyed the experience in the end.

If you’re extra nervous about being photographed, it might be worth investing in an engagement session – it’s like a practice run without the pressure. You’ll feel like a pro afterwards and feel more relaxed on your wedding day, plus you get some killer photos to boot. Win win.

My aim is always for you to enjoy your day fully, I’ll whizz around quietly so you either forget I’m there or think I’m just one of your mates with a camera. I actually get ask at most weddings if I was a friend of the bride or groom, which always makes me feel I’ve successfully blended in.

I make sure group photos are done as swiftly as possible so you can get back to mingling with your guests (or guzzling the canapés + bubbly). I try to do the couple photos in short chunks - most couples love the time out and for the opportunity to just enjoy each other’s company.

Why, yes:
+ I’ve been photographing weddings since 2010 and never missed a wedding – and should the worst happen I have a system in place to ensure you won’t be left without a photographer.
+ I’m fully insured (equipment, public liability, and professional indemnity).
+ You can see testimonials from happy clients throughout my site, client satisfaction is super important to me.

First up, I would need to be ill enough to miss my own wedding for me to miss yours. And in that case, I have a trusty network of awesome photographers I can contact to stand in. I will offer you as many options as possible depending on availability. To make sure you’re 100% happy I can either:
+ Have another photographer shoot the wedding and I edit the photos i.e. I’m still doing everything apart from shooting it on the day.
+ Fully refund your deposit and you can work directly with the replacement photographer instead.

I sometimes get asked about discounts and the general answer is I don’t discount, as it is unfair to my other clients. In saying that, I’ve been there and know what it’s like when you feel strongly about something. So if photography is really important to you and you think we’re a perfect fit, tell me more about your wedding and your budget, we can always chat about picking and mixing things to see if we can work something out.

I’d love to but I often get many enquiries for the same date so it’s just not feasible to hold dates. I work on a fair first come first served basis – a signed contract and £500 deposit (balance due 3 weeks before the wedding) and I’m all yours.

You’ve probably gathered I love me some adventure. So if you can point at it on a map (and can get me there and back) then I’m happy to oblige. I don’t charge extra for destination weddings nor travel time, just the travel costs.

I deliver upwards of 500 photos for a typical wedding coverage, often a lot more. Typical turnaround time is 4-6 weeks but I always try to deliver as soon as possible.

Of course! The best things in life are meant to be shared. If you could link back to me (shelldemar.com) and make sure they’re credited that would be great. Do tag me too, one of my favourite things is seeing my couples’ photos (sometimes from years ago) pop up on my feed.

It’s nothing scary, I promise. All it means is I created the photos so the copyright sits with me, it’s just so people don’t go around stealing other people’s photos. You get the license for personal use, which basically means: do whatever you want with them apart from making money off them.

I completely understand. You have a couple of options:
+ Take a look at my budget album options, they’re gorgeous and affordable.
+ Set on the super fancy lifetime guaranteed album(s)? Just put down £200 deposit, and when you’re ready just drop me a line and we’ll get the ball rolling. You pay the balance once the design is finalised and before it goes to print.

No problem, weddings are not the only thing I photograph, I also do couple sessions, family, events, and other portrait photography. Just let me know what you have in mind and we’ll make it happen.

Note: wedding is my primary business, so other shoots are usually scheduled either on weekdays or available Sundays.
